Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Wilmington, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across North Carolina run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 5β10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (910) 763-3172. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is yosake.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Wilmington is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Wilmington is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Great vibe, excellent (Americanized ) sushi with creative rolls! Donβt expect Fatty Tuna or (real) Mackrel , but the quality of their [more basic] sashimi was great. The rage sauce did not complement the sushi- but I imagine it would be amazing with their noodle dishes. The tomato ginger soup was great! And the happy hour sashimi plate for $10 was delicious- even with the pretend-to-be-crab sticks. $25 for 2 signature rolls was definitely a nice treat- though I learned of it from google reviews and NOT the happy hour menu, I presume because the price jumped from $22 to 25. Sat at the sushi bar- amazing to watch the chefs work!! Well oiled machine! And knowledgeable and friendly to guests while working pretty fast to handle the volume on a Tuesday! For a sushi bar, it is a limited ingredient sushi bar. But they also do noodles, fried Japanese foods, tons of appetizers, etc. They grow their herbs in-house and make their own sauces! The quality is great. Will definitely visit again next time we are in town!

Yosake is definitely worth checking out, especially during Happy Hour. The menu offers a great value with a nice selection of items from both the appetizer and dinner menus, making it easy to try a variety of dishes without breaking the bank. The standout of the meal was the Pork Udon Bowlβrich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Itβs a dish Iβd absolutely order again. The sushi, on the other hand, was decent but fairly average. It was fresh and well-prepared, but nothing that really stood out compared to other sushi spots. The biggest downside was the service. While our server was friendly, the timing of the food was off and everything came out much slower than expected. To their credit, they recognized the issue without us having to ask and graciously took a little off our bill, which was a thoughtful gesture and appreciated.

If youβre anywhere near Wilmington, donβt miss Yosake Sushi Lounge. We walked in on a Friday night with no reservation and were lucky enough to grab seats at the sushi bar. Watching the chefs work was worth the visit by itselfβtheyβre an absolute machine, turning out beautiful dishes with incredible precision. We started with the chicken and jalapeΓ±o egg rolls, which had just the right amount of spice. Crispy, fresh, and out to us in no time. For sushi, we ordered the Chefβs Choice and the βHow We Roll.β The Chefβs Choice was one of the most creative sushi experiences Iβve ever had. The fun is that you never know exactly what youβre getting, but I can promise itβll be fresh, inventive, and absolutely delicious. Iβd order it again in a heartbeat. We also had another specialty roll (I wish I could remember the name!), and it was just as unique and flavorful. Without question, this was one of the best sushi experiences Iβve had in the last ten years. The quality of the fish, the creativity, the presentation, and the pace of service were all exceptional. One last tipβdonβt let the stairs keep you away. Thereβs an elevator if you need it. Weβll absolutely be back.

Walk upstairs 2nd floor or use elevator in the back. Lots of seating. Tables, bar, sushibar area. The food was not what I expected for the price. The teriyaki chicken and veggies was spicy and had green bell peppers which through me off. The noodle bowl was supper sweet. The sushi was awesome!! The waitress was too.

Yosake is one of my all time favorites for culinary delights in Wilmington. Ask anyone, what is the best "soosh" place and they always say Yosake. I have been eating at places like this for years and in big cities like N.Y., Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Philly, DC... This place has that vibe. They take it very serious to bring out the best. Cool spot to bring a date to as well.
